Dr Brett Collins is a Queensland trained Orthopaedic Surgeon who focuses on knee and shoulder surgery. He has a special interest in sports related injuries.

Educated and raised in Brisbane, he completed his medical degree at The University of Queensland in 1999. He undertook further surgical training in both Queensland and the UK before joining the Orthopaedic Training Program. He gained his Fellowship in Orthopaedics from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2009.

Subspeciality fellowship training was undertaken in Canada in 2010-11. 12 months was spent at the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic in London, Ontario under the guidance of Drs Robert Litchfield, Robert Giffin, Kevin Willits and Marie-Eve LeBel. This clinic focused solely on Sports Orthopaedics with exposure to professional and university athletes. This clinic has a strong focus on knee injuries, arthroscopic reconstruction surgery and management of early knee arthritis. He also completed a Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship (knee and hip) at St Michaels Hospital in Toronto, Ontario with Drs James Waddell and Emil Schemitsch, both of whom are former Presidents of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association.

Dr Collins's practice focuses on surgery of the knee and shoulder with a special interest in sports orthopaedics. This includes knee reconstruction, arthroplasty, arthroscopy, osteotomies, meniscal and cartilage surgery, as well as shoulder arthroscopy, stabilization and rotator cuff surgery.
